Having long, perfect eyelashes is every woman’s dream. However, some of us aren’t gifted with sky-high, lush lashes. In fact, many of us suffer with too short, sparse, or too thin lashes. While lash serums can be used to boost thickness and length; others resort to pricy fake lashes or even more expensive lash extensions. Luckily, there are a few ways to use makeup to attain perfect lashes:
1. Condition your lashes
Like the hair on our heads, eyelashes become dry and can get damaged over time. To prevent this, condition your eyelashes preferably with petroleum jelly or castor oil. Doing so will help your eyelashes grow stronger and healthier over time.
2. Use an eyelash curler
Eyelash curlers are simple tools that can help lift, curl, brighter and widen your existing lashes. When using your eyelash curler, make sure that you position it at the base of the lash line and gently clamp down for several seconds. Continue this process by moving the curler up the lashes and pressing down again for several seconds.
3. Eyelash primer
For those with weak or thin eyelashes, an eyelash primer can give your lashes volume, making them thicker and fuller. Apply the primer before using your mascara. If you’re considering eyelash extensions, eyelash primer helps to achieve a much quicker attachment time as it will dissolve any makeup residue or natural oil on your natural eyelashes.
4. Blot the mascara wand
To prevent an excess of mascara on the brush, gently wipe the mascara brush, preventing clumps that can happen during the application of too much mascara.
5. Do NOT pump the wand
Most people are guilty when it comes to this. When you pump the wand in and out of the tube you will only introduce air and dry out your mascara faster. Instead, move the brush around in a circle inside the tube to get a considerable and even amount of mascara on the wand.
Majority of us haven’t got the time to put much effort into creating that ideal look. Our mornings are sometimes very hectic and overwhelming, but you can use the above tips to get a natural, longer lash look.
